Biography

Born in Trabzon in 1981, Zeki Çağlar Namlı started music on the keyboard at the age of 8. Namlı switched to baglama at the age of 13. Although he did not get a serious education, at the age of 16 he used traditional and new techniques in an unusual way. Zeki Çağlar, who won the State Turkish Music Conservatory the same year, rediscovered and defined baglama in these years. This discovery, apart from a new tone and technique, revealed a wide scale and a new musical style in baglama that comprehends music holistically. According to Namlı, music was whole.

He made many compositions and arrangements and gave solo concerts with his unique style that he created in those years. Zeki Çağlar Namlı, who got the patent for his invention of natural stereo for stringed instruments, which he started in 2000, applied to two instruments as natural stereo binding and guitar, and all stringed instruments naturally sounded in stereo. It could be heard, played on both sides (right and left), the octave expanded, and a new playing and instrumentation technique was emerging. Notorious defined this invention as "the transition from the mono instrument playing technique to the stereo period".

While his first album "La Lune" consisting of his own instrumental compositions was released in 2006, the compositions in the album were played on many international radios in a short time. The natural stereo connection he used in one of his compositions was also included in the innovative instrument catalogs that shape the 21st century instruments of different branches. Namlı, who accompanied the albums and concerts of many artists in different styles during these years, took part in short-term collaborative works. Most of these works were included in joint albums. Again in this process, he continued his new inventions and signed many new instrumental compositions. His published compositions are:'Sevgi yolu,'Son bahar,'Zerre,'La lune,'Anadolu rengi,'Şiir gibi,'Yüz yüze,'Rüya,'Element,'Yol,'Ah şu içimdeki insan sevgisi','Konnakol','Son','Real love','Umut sensin','My story','Cennet','Yine kendi özüne','Yalanlar içinden sana geldim','Mavi kelebek','Bir zamanlar','Divane','Senden sonra','Köy','Devacı','Deniz','Mahur','Çocuklar','To Spain with love','Dağlarının taşı olam','Yar yar','Umurumda', 'Güneşleyim','Toprak Ana','Sus4','Misket'

In 2007, he developed the television program format, which called"The Language of Music". In this format, musicians improvised the images in front of them with their music.

While Zeki Çağlar's duet album with Dominique Di Piazza, one of the special names of the bass guitar, was released in 2010, its own format called "The Language of Music" began to be broadcast on TRT in January 2012. In addition to being a musician, Namlı also hosted the program. He interpreted life and the problems in the world's agenda with music with nearly fifty important musicians he invited from all over the world.

He made many baglama designs for the baglama playing style he used. These designs were instruments that not only made the baglama keyboard more durable, but also were suitable for visual aesthetics and playing bionomy on the cover.

His duo album "Element", which he started working with Emre Karabulut in 2013, was released in 2015. During this time, he published the first book of the series, which called "Bağlama is a musical instrument", which describes the assimilation of baglama with frequency names and over 12 tones. According to Namlı, education and performance are very different from each other. For this reason, he had not published his method that he wrote for many different techniques since his student years at the university. However, the lack of knowledge of the relationship between the sounds, arising from the lack of assimilation of the baglama over 12 tones with frequency names, led to the emergence of free musical expressions with baglama, improvisation, and perception. He decided to publish this method because he saw that it was an obstacle in terms of implementation.

Namlı, who has many inventions that he has accumulated for many years, published "SoundUfo", one of his inventions, by obtaining an international invention (PCT) patent in 2018. He got orders from many countries of the world and produced it with his own means and send them to about 35 countries. won the bronze medal in the international invention competition, which also included the industrial and electronics company.
